Pete Vander Meer Jr took a well-deserved retirement and sold the bakery in 1997. That lasted until December 2005 when the new owners finally closed the bakery. Chris and Jessica Steffens bought the property and re-opened the bakery under the same name in November 2006. We wish them well.
